Despite the Military's daunting and nearly overwhelming presence around the Monastary, business was expected to go on as normal.  Father O'Reilly, being the stubborn old man he was, refused to allow the General to think that he had even the slightest affect on the order and it's movements.  Vance, Devayne, and Nora had been sent off to London.  General Aguas had made special note of this, in order to plan out an effiecent and fast attack on the Monastary, he would have to know every small detail, watching it closely, and observing everything about it that he possibly could was essential to his success.
